Christ The King-Maktau Special School is a beacon of Hope

We are a specialized institution dedicated to the development of learners with a wide range of needs. We don’t just see a diagnosis; we see a dreamer, a creator, and a future contributor to society. Special education isn’t just about support; it’s about unlocking the unique brilliance within every child.” We serve the children of Taita Taveta County and Kenya at large. Greetings and a warm welcome to Christ the King-Maktau Special School.
At the heart of our institution lies a profound belief: that diversity is not a challenge to be overcome, but a gift to be cherished. As the Principal, I am honored to lead a dedicated team of educators and caregivers who wake up every day with a single mission—to ensure that every learner, regardless of their physical or intellectual starting point, is given the tools to reach their highest aspirations.

We invite you to join our family and witness the incredible resilience and creativity of our learners. Together, we can turn aspirations into reality.

Inclusive

Inclusion is not just a policy; it is our pulse. We believe that true inclusion happens when every learner—regardless of their physical, sensory, or intellectual profile—is given an equal seat at the table of opportunity.

Responsible

Being responsible means moving beyond basic care to provide a profound sense of stewardship over every learner’s future. We believe that we are accountable not only for our students’ safety today but for their independence tomorrow.

Respectful

Respect is the cornerstone of our community. It is the practice of acknowledging the inherent dignity in every human being, regardless of their physical, sensory, or intellectual abilities.

Collaborative

we recognize that the journey of a learner with special needs is never walked alone. Collaboration is the engine that drives our success, bringing together educators, parents, healthcare professionals,

What parent say

Christ The King-Maktau was the best decision our family ever made. Before he joined, we struggled to find a place that saw his potential rather than just his physical challenges. Here, he isn’t just a ‘student with a disability’—he is a drummer, a friend, and a boy with a voice.

Mama Baraka, Proud Parent

More than just a joyful place

By collaborating across disciplines, we ensure that a child’s physical therapy supports their classroom performance, and their communication tools are integrated into every aspect of their day.
